Summer Vacation-Fresno... part I

Two weeks ago we headed down to Fresno for a long-awaited and badly-needed vacation. The Sheriff and Auntie G took time off work too, and we agreed to just hang out for a week, and do whatever struck our fancy during our week of vacation. It will take a few posts to get pictures up from this, and I will try to not bore you all with a thousand pictures of the same thing. :-) We had a great time, and did mostly nothing... it was wonderful.

Traditional happy hour with fruit punch at PegLeg's house... My beautiful sister... I love her dearly. I am so very blessed to have such amazing siblings. A friend on Facebook recently commented that she realized the greatest gift she could give her first child was a little sister, and it struck me how true that is. I count each one of my siblings as my closest and dearest friends...

The Sheriff and their baby. He's less than a year old, and has hit 110 pounds. He's beautiful and adorable, and we all fell deeply in love with him. He hates the pool though, and here he was cuddling as close to his daddy as possible in an effort to keep away from the water. :-) As summers in Fresno are crazy hot, he's gonna have to learn to like water I think.

Snuggle close! Hold on tight! Don't let that evil pool get me!!
Kiki was in the water within a half hour of arrival, and swam for hours every day. We discovered pretty quickly that she could out swim us all, with the exception of Uncle Sheriff.
While Debris likes swimming, she doesn't love it as much as Kiki. She was much happier hunting lizards with PegLeg, as seen here, or hopping from rock to rock in PegLeg's yard. Give the child a yard with rocks, pathways, whatever... she can hop from rock to rock for hours, and be thoroughly entertained.
Kiki, swimming with Daisy.
Gleefully getting thrown in by Daddy.
Jumping off PegLeg's waterfall.

Breakfast by the pool. Spoiled rotten with chocolate milk and fruit loops. That's what happens when you visit family, they spoil you rotten. :-)
Truly a highlight of the week... we couldn't catch a great picture of it, but offer this dog an onion to smell, and his whole face grimaces, jowls and all. We were quite entertained by this for some time. (Just to clarify, we weren't trying to feed him the onion, just letting him smell it. He wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole anyways.)
Kiki thought it was the coolest thing ever... everybody playing with her in the pool. The kid spent 6-7 hours total almost every day in the pool.
Debris, bubble blowing... PegLeg got them huge baskets full of goodies like bubbles, and crayons and fancy cups and straws, they had so much fun with this basket of goodies all week long.
Frank and The Sheriff ran to the store and got squirt guns... Kiki made great use of them.

Swimming back and forth across the pool with her gun... she has no problem carrying things while she swims, it just amazes me--she's as comfortable in the water as she is out. This pool was 7 feet deep, she spent more time at the bottom of it than she did anywhere else, all week.

Brie, getting a ride on Daddy.

That's gonna have to be it for today! I'm so happy to be home, but boy, do I have laundry and cleaning to do!

I think I'd swim in that pool for hours, too, so pretty! They have a beautiful place. And, your sis looks so much like you! Pretty ladies!
