Autumn 2009 Portraits

So, the weekend before last we headed down to the East Wenatchee Fire Station to check out their open house, and then to Lake Wenatchee to see fall colors and take family pictures...
The girls got the chance to go through the "fake" burning house... that was a really good experience for them... Debris was thoroughly traumatized by it, and howled her way through it, but I'm really glad they were able to experience that. We also got the opportunity to watch a demo of how home sprinkler systems work, which was really cool... since we have them, I was glad to be able to watch them work, and let the girls see too.
Then we took Rovey to a carwash... Callie was NOT impressed, and did her best to make it past the doggie guard in the back. I was really glad we had the doggie guard because otherwise I know the girls would have gotten a lapful of crazy dog.

Then, Lake Wenatchee and Family Portraits, and fall colors... glorious!
At the lake...

By the Horse Stables in the Lake Park--we really need to get a tripod... We always stick our camera on the back tire of Rovey to take our family pictures, but if Rovey is PART of the family, and I want him in family pictures, that presents a problem. So, one of these years we have to get a family picture with all six of us... Frank, Me, Kiki, Debris, Callie, and Rovey--and fall colors, preferably. :-)

If I can ever decide what one's to print, family will get prints of these...
One of the really neat things about where we live, is that we can watch the weather roll in, really dramatically... this was a shot Frank took the other night, as a storm rolled in... I love it!

Happy Autumn to our family and friends... as the weather gets colder, may your heart be warmed with God's grace, your family's love, snuggly evenings, hot drinks, and laughter... (That goes down in the record books as the cheesiest thing I've ever typed--it is sincere, just also cheesy.) Vaya Con Dios! (Sorry, we're working on our spanish here, I can't help myself.)

  1. Great family pictures! We're enjoying the fall weather too, rain storms and all. It's such a beautiful season...the leaves not always the rain!

  2. Looks like fun! Those are such cute hats the girls are wearing! Autumn is the perfect time of year to take photos. Better than Christmas (by then the summer tans have thoroughly faded!) even.

  3. So what is in the fire safety house? Does it seem like a 'real' simulated fire? Cool idea to use as a teaching tool.

Lake Wenatchee looks so pretty! We haven't been there yet, but it is a must do next time we are in the area.

Enjoyed the pictures of the family and the adorable outfits on B and K.

Beautiful cloud picture at the end! Clouds can be so amazing!
