I thought I'd see if I could get a quick blog post in before the movers pack up the computer. I've got all my stuff done today, so I'm trying to stay out of their way. So, here's a bit of a picture update from our last couple weeks, or however long it's been. My sequential memory is a bit spotty at this point.
Jumping from bed to bed at our first hotel. (The first one the girls and I stayed at. Garrett has been in hotels since Labor Day, so he's see quite a few.)
The day we checked out of that hotel was one of the worst rainy days we'd seen so far. We also had to wait several hours for Garrett to be done with work before we could come back over to Wenatchee. It ended up being a great day... just went to Dash Point Pier and the girls played, and I (of course) had a ton of phone calls to make and stuff to write down, so I hunkered down in the picnic area, plugged my phone in so it wouldn't die--because it was pretty close when I got there, and spent an amazing amount of time on the phone that day. Has anyone ever tested how long they actually have to be at a park before the kids want to go? We were there for almost 6 hours, and they still complained when it was time to leave. Crazy.Spicy Tuna Rolls to go from Fred Meyer, one of my favorite things to do for lunch when I'm busy, and going to need to eat out. Not fast food, and so good for $5-ish. The kids wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole, which completely works in my favor in this case.
These little nuts just had to try out the water.
Keira playing on the old pier footings. She had a blast with this. She was fully aware of the fact that I had NO intention of going into the water to get her out if she fell. On this day we also saw a few seals, a whole bunch of jellyfish, and anemones too. It was pretty cool.
There are two things Brie loves more than anything. Ice Cream, and Popcorn. Ice Cream has been in short supply in the hotel life, but our latest hotel had popcorn. Therefore, happy Brianna.
I just love this picture of Keira! This hotel had a cozy little reading area, and a swimming pool, and we got a two room suite for an AWESOME price, so it ended up being a really nice stay. I think the Lord knew the kids needed a break from how frazzled and grossed out I am when I'm in a dirty hotel. I'll still be glad to be in a house on Friday, but at least I don't hate all hotels with a passion at this point. :-)
Chatting with an aunt. :-)
Brown's Point Lighthouse.
Seal! I know they're a nuisance here--like the deer are to folks in Wenatchee, but they're still fun to spot and watch.
And, since my day has been full of things like cleaning out the attic, removing charcoal from the Barbecue, and removing the punching bag from the ceiling, you get just one shot from today. This was my rather clever, if I do say so myself, jerry-rigging that I used to get the 125 pound punching bag off the ceiling this morning. I ended up having to undo it and put the hi-lift jack on the other side, otherwise it would have knocked me off the ladder. Then the sequence of events went as follows: Unhook punching bag. Grab jack. Shove punching bag other way. Jump backwards off ladder holding hi-lift jack in death grip, and trying not to whack things with it. Breathe big, huge, sigh of relief. Feel slightly smug. I'm glad I didn't end up on my back with all of it on top of me. Today has gone pretty smoothly, so I'm very thankful for that.
One thing is for sure, it's always an adventure. The kids are with my parents and sisters for this week, Garrett is working all week, and I'm over here in Wenatchee now with the movers packing up our house. We're supposed to be in the new house on Friday. I'm so looking forward to being surrounded with my stuff again. It's just stuff, but it's OUR stuff, and we like it.
We're so thankful for our friends, and all the sweet comments and the prayers that have gone up for us. Every comment is appreciated so much! I can't wait to actually sit down in front of the computer and catch up/comment on all my friends blogs. I sort of feel like I'm on a strange, chaotic island right now. The end is in sight though, and I will respond to emails, text messages, phone calls and blog posts just as soon as I can. :-)
Will catch ya on the flip side! :-)
