Our Thanksgiving

Daddy's BBQing helper... as a family of BBQ fanatics, baked beans and smoked turkey are our little family's Thanksgiving tradition... Kiki & Debris are their daddy's biggest BBQ fans. So, this year, we had two kinds of turkey... roasted and smoked.

Fire fun...

Lot's of sweets.... especially Aunt G's fudge--SO good!

K&B tried to skip the meal and just go for the fudge. We caught them. :-)

The dog snuck in the house, and fell asleep on her tenderhearted owner's lap.

We caught an adult texting at the dinner table...

Got serenaded by harmonica as our gigantic meal settled...

Told stories complete with visual aids of folks with bad manners...
Had more fun with fire...

and yet MORE fun with fire...
This one got many a ride on a ripstick around the pool... it looks unsafe, I know. But the boy is amazingly agile, and the girl is amazingly resilient. Also, if they fell, chances are good it would have been into the pool.
Played with more fire...
This one's birthday is coming up, and she got a HUGE pack of playdoh for her birthday... so she's been enjoying that, as well as her other presents to no end.
And, we are enjoying the crisp cool days, with the promise of snow in the air... You can't get much better than that. I hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful... filled with family fun, and laughter!

  1. Great pics, that looked like loads of fun. Your girls look a lot like my second oldest niece, it's kinda uncanny! :P And *gasp* adult textage at the table? What is this world coming to...Hahah!

  2. The ripstick ride looks like fun. Much safer than someone like, say, me riding one! I think I might just need to go eat some fudge after reading this post.

  3. The turkey sounds and looks scrumptious! Mmmm.

I recognize that pool room, much fun has taken place in that room! I have never seen the pool in it's finished state though. When I was there last it was just a hole in the floor and they were working on digging out the sand foundation deeper. The kids would go around and around on scooters and that scared me!

Nell's look in that pyro photo is her signature lol.
