Mom's Pinning...
This past weekend we headed down to Portland for my mom's pinning. Congratulations Momma on finishing nursing school! We're proud of you, and also I'm very glad to have my mommy back. :-) She had all this time on her hands, so she spent a bunch of time with Kiki and Debris. She took them fishing, and took them shopping, and we all just lazed around the whole weekend, except for when we were going somewhere or putting a meal together.

Outside the college before the pinning ceremony.
Dad and the girls pinning mom. :-)
My favorite picture from the weekend. My guy, his guitar and coffee. It's a good way to spend a Saturday morning.
Poppa made the girls "lattes" as part of our lazy Saturday routine. They were quite pleased.
And then Auntie Ten, my Mother in Law and I worked together to put a family dinner on since it was Mom's Pinning Celebration, Kiki's Early Birthday Celebration, and Auntie Dhasa was up for a visit all in one weekend.
Kiki blowing out her candles. She saw The Neely's make this recipe on Food Network, and decided then and there that this is what she wanted her birthday cake to be. They were pretty good and she was happy. My only complaint is that they were incredibly hard to serve. We finally went with a casserole dish so they wouldn't tip and go splat.

Now that looks like fun! I want one of those cupcake in a cone. Real bad. Real awful bad. And apples, I want fresh apples. And Autumn, I want that too. I just want it all doggone it. ;) So glad you got to have a little getaway! Love the pics of the girls and their fish, way to go!
ReplyDeleteI have a picture of that exact moment of Kiki covering her mouth while we sang to her...only a different angle :) I'll send it to you...it's too sweet!
ReplyDeleteGlad to spend time with you...even if it was for such a short time :(
Love,
Auntie Dhasa <3

ReplyDeleteAww, congrats to your mom! That's awesome! The fish looks great, kudos to your sweet girls for such a fine catch! Dinner decorations look awesome, and I LOVE that pic of your guy/guitar/coffee. Excellent! Pretty please, send that hint of autumn down south?? Still pushing 100 here, and no hint in sight. But September starts my favorite time of year too. Next 4 months are filled with birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. It'll be busy, but great!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your Mom, that is amazing. Glad Kiki had an awesome birthday. Like you, Fall is my favorite time of year. Plan to buy a bushel of apples and pears this weekend for canning.
ReplyDeleteThose vegetarian meals are actually going pretty well. Growing up in Texas I am a huge fan of a nice juicy steak, but I knew I needed to make some smart changes with my recent health issues. I also knew that I did not want to be eating a ton of tofu or other such things so I tried to find recipes with ingredients my family already loved.
Have a great week.
Big congrats to your mom, and I agree about the Frank & coffee photo. I love hanging out with my husband drinking coffee.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your Momma! Looks like a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Naomi's mom! Great job!
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your congratulations! I could not have made it without all the great support! I started taking classes when KiKi was a newborn, so it was a great weekend celebration! Grammy
