Last weekend it was not very surprisingly rainy. It was the first day of Garrett's week off work, (yay!!) and after sitting around the house all day and not doing anything, we finally decided that if we were going to do anything, we just had to bundle up in our boots and rain gear and get out and do it. We are very slow learners, apparently. It takes us a leeetle while. So after getting all our rain gear on and bundling up, we headed off to check out this hike, detailed very nicely here.
It rained all the way up through Bellevue, and literally the sun broke out as we pulled into the parking lot. Handy of it.

| It is SO SO SO WEIRD to drive this car places to hike. There was one hike in Wenatchee we used this car to access, the rest were all Rovey-Accessible-only hikes. Very weird. |
 |
| Apparently there was an actual mine down here at one point... that gives me the willies, not gonna lie. |
 |
| I'd forgotten how many ferns are all over the place on this side of the mountains. |
 |
| And moss. |

| Spring Flowers. :-) |

| This one insisted on dressing in her white ruffly skirt, and then proceeded to flit here and there throughout the woods on either side of the trail. Due to her wood nymph behavior, we ended up with way more Brie pictures than Keira, who was walking alongside us holding our hands most of the way. Oops. |

It was a little muddy. Pretty much the whole hike. I love these boots. (I think these are them.) I have had them for just over a year, hiked through countless creeks and over a fair amount of weekend trails, and they have held up wonderfully-they still look almost new, despite countless muddy treks and creek crossings. The soles are really thick, so they aren't the best for boulder conditions, but they are great for everything else. I love them, and can't imagine life without them.
On our way back out we stopped to have an impromptu family photo shoot by the waterfall.

| All 5 of us. :-) |
Since I'm reviewing stuff in the post, I'll recommend the shirt that I'm wearing in this picture. It is not the best shot because, well, I gots me a belly right now, :-) but it is hands-down my most favorite shirt, EVER! I shouldn't be wearing it right now, but I can't seem to stop myself. I love all my clothes from this company. From ExOfficio, it is the Chica Cool Hoody, and it is SO comfortable, warm, but also a great variable weather shirt because it keeps you cool as the day get warmer too. Added bonus is that it washes up awesomely. I just love it, and I would buy about a bajillion more.

My face: "I love this man!" His face: "I could crush her to death with my bare hands right now if I wanted to!" I feel so loved. |
We didn't do this whole hike, we just bumped along until it was time to turn around with the kiddos. On the way home it started raining again, so we somehow managed to catch the perfect sunbreak time for our hike. Bonus! It was a really great spot though, and an excellent day hike location.
I love your family. Martha
ReplyDeleteLove it all! You guys have such fun together! :)
ReplyDeleteDo you know what you are having?
Hi Taylor!
DeleteYes, we are having a girl. :-)
Looks like a great hike. I have a similar shirt that I LOVE and would wear daily if my better sense didn't say no.
ReplyDeleteI pretty much always pull this one out of the dryer to put on. :-)
DeleteAwe, you are so super cute! Hiking while pregnant is SPECIAL! We just did our first hike post pregnancy and I was SHOCKED by how EASY it was compared to pregnancy hiking.
