Nature or Nurture?

My children are so sweet. Recently we have had some computer issues. These issues have included us losing a lot of stuff on itunes. Actually, everything on itunes. I have CD's for most of it, but I didn't have about 50 or so things backed up, and those are the things we listen to the most, so I have currently gone from having 693 songs on my ipod, to exactly 16. Which I bought after everything else was gone, and before I knew everything else was gone. Anyway... back to my kids. Frank Castle was working at the computer on this little issue and I was sitting next to him on the floor. I apparently looked quite sad, because Kiki and Debris both came over, put their hands on my face, and started asking me, quite concernedly, what the matter was, what was wrong, etc. I told them that I was sad, and why, and I tell you what, they sprang into ninja "fix-it" mode. It was absolutely priceless, and beyond adorable. They immediately assured me that they were going to fix everything, and I would feel so much better, and be so happy. Kiki immediately ran around the house collecting pillows. I was surrounded in split seconds by pillows of all shapes and sizes, 8 of them to be precise. Then I had a blanket thrown over my back, and one over my legs, a stuffed dog to snuggle, and a short shoulder massage to ease my tension, as well as a giant pink straw hat tossed on my head, for good cheerful measure apparently. Meanwhile, my little Debris is standing there watching this and patting me and reassuring me, and kissing me frantically. Finally she springs up and says, "I know what you need to make you feel better. You need Oh-gurt! I will get you some Oh-gurt. Oh-gurt will make you feel better!" And she runs out of the room, I hear her talking to herself the whole time about how Oh-gurt will make mommy feel better. I hear the fridge open, the silverware drawer open, and slam shut, and the pitter patter of her little feet as she runs back into the room, with a perfectly presented Tillamook Vanilla Bean yogurt, (the only yogurt anyone in this house will eat) the lid open, and the spoon inserted, and such a sweet grin, who could say no? By this time I am giggling, they're so desperate and cute, it's impossible to be annoyed. Anyway, needless to say I was definitely cheered up. However, the first song I re-buy, and promptly back up to CD will be "Time to Say Goodbye" by Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman. My little monkeys singing Italian Opera, as best they can, at the top of their lungs makes the dreaded trip to the grocery store quite enjoyable, indeed.

  2. Hey Gina! Thanks for the pat on the head. I think we're going to be able to salvage most of it. Garrett and I had a lot of duplicate stuff, and he hasn't synced his ipod yet, so we're going to run the save program for his, and give me all his music... hopefully it will work! I and my children miss my fully stocked ipod!
