This last week wasn't just Thanksgiving for us, it also brought us Soon-To-Be-Uncle B and Auntie G for a visit! So, I'm starting with Thanksgiving Day, cuz it was fun, but it will probably take at least one more post to get through all the fun we had.
This was my first year hosting Turkey Day. I'm really glad Auntie G was there.

I thought at first that I'd lost my mind when I decided to make the napkins and the tablecloth, but I'm so glad I did. It was pretty easy, very inexpensive, and so pretty! I should have just done it a few weeks ago instead of the Saturday before. Hey, time management is not my strong suit.

I really love mashed potatoes. My kids call them Bash-a-tatoes. But the reason I love them so much at Thanksgiving time is because it is the one day of the year I allow myself to make them with everything in them. These Bash-a-tatoes had cream cheese, sour cream, heavy cream, a few cubes of butter, parmesan cheese and roasted garlic in them. SO GOOD!

I hate to break it to you people out there, but we had THE BEST TURKEY EVER! at our house on Thanksgiving day this year. EVER! It was wood smoked to perfection by Frank Castle. Delicious. Knock-you-out good. Never eat another bite of turkey in your life good. Eat turkey every day for the rest of your life searching for a turkey that can measure up to the delicious turkey from 2008 good. It was THAT GOOD! I was forbidden from posting the picture of Frank Castle taking his first bite of turkey. He looked as though he had transcended to some higher plane. In a goofy sort of way. Anyway, the turkey was outstanding, if you didn't catch that. Smoky skin, and tender juicy meat. Even the breast meat. Wow. I think I'll go have some leftover turkey now.

Soon-to-be-Uncle B and Frank, cutting the cake. Uh, turkey.

When we have BBQ, we must have baked beans. Frank Castle's baked beans. I'd give you the recipe, but: 1. I don't know it. and 2. We don't share the recipe. But, we'll cook 'em for ya! Umm, Frank will cook them for you. They're unrivalled in their great deliciousness, says his wife.

Kiki thought this giant leg was pretty cool. She was very offended when I suggested that perhaps she couldn't eat the whole thing. She did pretty good.

Talking to Auntie Ten on the phone.

I have no idea what they're looking at, but it musta been pretty interesting!

Getting a book read to them... These were some happy girls... Notice how Debris has her jammie pants on? Well, I told her to get herself dressed in the morning. Then I went on about my business getting ready for Thanksgiving dinner. I noticed she was still wearing her Jammie Pants, but it was pretty cold, and I was busy, so I mostly ignored it. That night, we told her to get ready for bed, and so she just took her dress off. Guess what she was wearing underneath? All of her Jammies. Not just the pants. HA! Needless to say, I made her take them off and put fresh ones on.

Playing with my 22 quart stockpot. It's big enough that Debris fits in it! She was pretending to be soup with her celery there.

Hope everyone else had as much fun as we did!
