Huh, what?!

Oh yeah, I have a blog. I can't say any one thing in particular that has gotten in the way of my blogging lately, but rather a whole multitude of things like visitors (fun), traveling (fun), spring yard work (fun), and spring cleaning the house (not even the slightest bit fun). Oddly enough, while all these things could have entire posts devoted to them, my usual spot-on picture taking bone has been lacking these days. :-) I seem to fall in a funk like that every once in a while. So, without further ado, here is just a few pics and details here and there of what we've been up to lately.
The adult portion of this family visited the area for a few days, so us girls got some fun antique shopping, new recipe trying, conversation and picnic lunching out of the deal. Good times! And then this family passed through right before we headed down to the Portland area, so we got to spend the afternoon with them at our favorite park, the Rocky Reach Dam. It ended up being a little bit longer than it originally was going to be, due to Rovey having a part that broke down when it was time for us to leave. I thought I was out of gas, because I didn't see the gas light come on, and was afraid that it had been on for longer than it should have been. We tried gas first, but Rovey still wouldn't work, so we ended up having to part ways, and go back the next morning. Thank the Lord, it was only a $60 part. That meant we weren't able to get to Portland until Friday evening, instead of Thursday evening like we'd planned, but we were just thankful to go at all at that point!!

The girls were very sad that they only got to spend one afternoon with Alyssa and Lauren.
In a completely random picture moment, Kiki has learned, with a little help from Daddy, how to use the NetiPot. She did perfectly, I was so impressed. Since we're talking about water and noses and doing great, I will share that both Kiki and Debris PASSED their swimming levels this session, and move on to the next. They are both awesome swimmers!! They got to swim with Auntie Ten while we were in Portland, but all those pics are on my parents camera, so I will share them when I can. Kiki discovered the diving block, and it is her new favoritest thing--in fact, she said it was her favorite part of the trip, which is saying a lot, because there were two sets of Gramma and Poppas involved in that trip! :-) Thankfully they are pretty understanding of an obsessed five year old. :-)
Painting T-shirts with Auntie Caca.

Making faces...
Using Uncle Adventurer for his iPhone... haha!
Being Mythbusters... or Mifbusters, as they call themselves. I caught them re-creating an experiment (the heroic hang) they saw on Mythbusters not too long ago. Unfortunately, I was a little late with the camera. When I ran into the house to get the camera they were both hanging from the top of the fence and counting.
I don't know that I've ever mentioned this place before, but we have two favorite coffee places in Wenatchee... Cafe Mela, which I know I've mentioned before, and Java Dog. Both are amazing.
Does this picture throw you back twenty (or so) years, like it throws me back?! Ah, Big Wheels...

Picnicking with friends, and practicing our bike riding skills, these are good spring time activities.
I apologize in advance for the 40 million pine tree pictures I'm going to share with you this year. I am obsessed.
Hope spring is treating you well!

  5. I want to go on a picnic with you! Maybe someday! :) The pic of Kiki using the neti pot cracks me up! I love mine, but one time I tried telling B how to use it and about drowned him, I'm not sure if he has forgiven me yet.
And woohoo for the girls passing their swimming levels! They really are hilarous, recreating the heroic hang, eh? LOL! Looks like ya'll are having a great spring. :)

  10. Looking Up Spouse here...
Wow, I owe Looking Up Wife a big apology. For 11 years I've thought she alone practiced nose irrigating. Albeit, she convinced me to do it once and I can't describe my horror.
I grew up understanding that salty water coursing through your nose was an affliction suffered only by surfers and Jacques Cousteau. If it happens it's not on purpose, like reverse eating when you don't feel well. Thanks to this post I've done research and apparently there's merit to the nose potty. I still don't want to try it again. In fact I'm feeling my pulse race just commenting about it.
Nice work squeaking out a $60 repair. We've got to get the Rovers together soon!!
