Anyhoo, we visited my Aunt and Uncle in ML for 4th of July weekend. They had a cat that met her untimely demise on the road two weeks after giving birth to 5 little kittens. Apparently HER mother didn't teach her to look both ways before she crossed the road. So, these little motherless kittens are getting the royal treatment in the kitchen. My girls fell in love.

Kids and Cats
First of all, allow me to apologize... this post has FAR TOO MANY pictures of my kids, with kittens. I could not pick just a few. I don't have the mental energy for that this morning.

Arranging a kittens-who-can barely-walk race.

Helping them to ballroom dance. Or make out--I'm not sure which, maybe both.

Getting syringe fed every couple of hours... that's the life! It was amazing, we were only their for one night and a full day, and you could tell they were more stronger and active by the time they left. Their little meows would break even the hardest of hearts.

I'll admit, they're pretty cute. The kids, I mean. As much as I can wrap my head around the idea that they are cute, I will admit that the kittens were a little rodent-esque for me... and they turn into cats, which I am mind blowingly allergic to. I would like points however, for picking one up and moving it, instead of jumping on the counter to get out of it's way. But, the kids and their kitten excitement are sweet as can be, and completely melted their mother's heart.

The poor mother cat! The little kittens are adorable and very tolerant :) B and K must of had a hard time leaving them behind.
ReplyDeleteDid you guys see any spectacular fireworks?
Nope. It's a bit too dry here for us to feel comfortable with any kind of fireworks. We save those for New Years, where they won't light our whole world, and wheat fields, on fire. :-)
ReplyDeleteI still say those cats are snake bait.
ReplyDeleteI know. Just think of all those poor mother snakes out there, looking for food to feed their families!! These kittens would be a delicious meal for them, I'm sure!
ReplyDeleteAnybody can do what comes easy. You allowed the girls to enjoy the loveliness of kittens. Some of my best friends have been cats and my life wouldn't have been the same without them. We only have one now and Grizzly says that's two too many. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteHI GIRLS! LOVE YOUR KITTIES!
I think auntie Dhasa would gladly loan your aunt and uncle Monty for a while...
ReplyDeleteYou mean you didn't take one home with you?! :) Our little Seltzer was found in the bucket of a piece of CAT equipment (yes, ironic), with the rest of her motherless siblings, and a woman bottle fed them all too. These kitties will be very people-friendly because of that...Seltzer isn't afraid of anyone and is super cuddly...she even lets Savannah drag her all over the house, without even so much as a meow! I love the pic of B, making them "dance"...so cute!!
ReplyDeleteAunt Mandy
Such precious pictures of the babies! Its amazing that cute little kittens grow up to be nasty icky evil cats! I love the girls skirts! cant wait to see you all in a week and a half!Auntie G
ReplyDeleteSuch cute outfits! I think pretty much every girl loves the irresistible adorableness of kittens! They're just so cuddly and cute.
ReplyDeleteMonty would be glad to help you out there...his head might be a little too small for them, but, he can unhinge his jaw, so I think he might be able to swallow a small one maybe. He's hungry, too...it's been awhile since we've fed him...Wanna spend the night Naomi? BWAHAHAHA
