A few Kidbits for your Friday, with fun pics!
Two mornings this week Debris has brought me a tall glass of ice water, and then promptly stole my coffee out from underneath me while I was saying thank you for the ice water! She really likes coffee, the clever little sneak!
Here's Debris, getting arrested. Hopefully this never happens in real life!!! **Mother is sending up prayer!!**
Also, Kiki has taken to calling herself "your precious daughter" in conversation with me. Example: The other day we were dropping daddy's lunch off at work for him, and she was taking her sweet time getting out of the Land Rover. Of course, she would not accept my help at all. Finally I said, very impatiently, "Kiki, will ya hurry up?!" She looks at me, very offended, and says, "Mother, don't speak to your precious daughter like that!" Then, this morning I'm working on something in the kitchen, and she says, "Mom, your precious daughter would like to get dressed now!" There's been a few other instances of this weirdness this week, but these are the one's that immediately leap out of my mind.
If there is any advice I could give a new mom, it would be to not only write down the cute and funny stuff your kids say and do, but also write down the odd sentences that come out of your own mouth. I started doing this about three months ago, and I'm so glad I did. It makes me sad tho, cuz if I'd started at the beginning of my odd-sentence-saying-time of my life, I would most likely have enough material for a very interesting coffee table book about right now--some I wish so bad I remembered, all I remember is thinking, "Wow, that's an odd sentence!" Oh well!
Here's a few of my recent ones:
Do not lick the couch!
Don't wipe your nose with your dress!
Girls who flush their sisters pee can't have make-up!
Why is there blueberry muffin batter on the toilet?
Why is there Coke in the bathtub?
Just as a side note, in looking through these sentences, I think they may serve as birth control as well. If I occasionally get the "maybe we should have another kid" bug, I will be referring back to this post as a reminder of why I'm glad my kids are growing up.
Then I'll look at pictures like this, and remember how much fun they are, and yes, how precious they are!
They love tea parties:
They love to help me with laundry:
This week they climbed Mt. Everest. I was so impressed. Notice how "base camp" is set up--there's nothing like random items in a bunch of fruit boxes to make base camp with! The flag poles at the top of Mt. Everest are the posts for our solar garden lights that are waiting for a garden to grace, BTW.
An empty milk jug from the "oil changing" pile in the garage, a few socket sets from daddy's toolbox, a plastic sand shovel, a mallet and gardening gloves. Necessary items for climbing Mt. Everest, to be sure.
Alas, the pretty camping chair was just a little too heavy to make the trek.
Have a great weekend!
It is so much fun to watch our punkins play together...keep their hilarious sayings coming, too! XO
