Are we ever busy! I always think life is going to slow down when the next season gets here, and it never does. I think I would be bored if it did tho, so I'm trying to mentally embrace it, instead of complain about it.
Saturday we had a family reunion over in Tumwater. So much fun, and so good to see people I love, but don't get to see that often, due to everyone's crazy busy life. The reunion was at the Schmidt House--a perfect location. So beautiful. T&MB outdid themselves with a NW themed meal--I'd say I've never had better, but well, Frank Castle is an excellent smoker of meat and he might take offense, so I'll say instead that it was amazing, and definitely on my top ten meals ever list. It helped that we had handpicked wine via a Sommelier in the family that complemented the meal perfectly. What a treat!

A (the newest member of our family! Due to marriage, obviously! grin!) and J--doesn't J look like my dad?! So weird, it kind of made me start every time I looked at him. It felt like I was seeing my dad again when I was a little kid. Of course, J's a bit younger than Dad would have been when I was little, but the resemblance is striking. Also, you can see a corner of Cousin K in this pic. That would be A's new wife. :-)
K,
Kiki, Debris, and Auntie Ten, touring the grounds. Debris fell in love with K, and latched onto her the entire day.

Grandad and Uncle B, taking one of 5 million pictures. I was talking most of the day, so didn't take as many pics as I wish I had. Most of these pictures Frank Castle took.
Obviously. Good times. :-)
And then, yesterday the M family came to Wenatchee for J's football game. I love football. Do I understand it? Not completely. But, who can resist the football costumes? (Haha! I had to put that in there cuz it will totally irk Frank. Yes, I know they're called uniforms!) But anyway, I've never been to a Middle School football game before and it was totally fun to watch all these little men play football in all their earnestness. I think guys are born knowing the rules for football. It blows my mind. Anyway, J made two touchdowns--and his team blew the other one away. Mostly I followed the game. :-) Awesome. BTW, he's #85.
This was right before he caught the ball, and ran it down the field. I love this picture... My camera didn't recover in time to get him catching the ball. Stupid slow digital recovery time. Love the look on his face hiding behind his helmet tho!!

He was actually carrying the ball for a touchdown in this one... Look how the other team is converging on him. Great action shot, if I do say so myself, other than you can't see the ball in his arm.

And, headed back into battle. I love this picture. Look at the game face!

Those were my three favorite pics, so I had to share. Note to self: Start wearing a sweatshirt when leaving the house. It's cold these days!! Kiki refused to wear both her sweatshirt or her tennis shoes. She was so cold. But when I told her to put them on she said, with great long suffering, "Mom, princesses do not wear jackets or tennis shoes!" Ok, then, feel free to freeze.

Look at our tower Mom!

For some reason they are obsessed with "Night Hats." So last night, they were complaining that they were afraid of the dark, so I let them sleep together, in their night hats. I told them they could hug each other if they were afraid.
Kiki said (very indignantly) "Hugging each other won't make it light in here!"
Haha!

I love this picture. The kid, the dress, the boots and her love of all animals is just precious. Unfortunately, I am deathly allergic to cats and dogs, so she's gonna have to do without. I feel bad, yes, but I do value breathing.
I forgot that we share cousins. :) Thanks for the photos. Looks like you guys have been busy lately!
ReplyDeleteOh my word, I know everyone says that one kid looks So Newby and one looks SO Grebe--but I've never noticed it so very much as in the picture with the "night hats". Darling, darling.
