Last weekend we traveled down to Gresham for a fun family weekend. The occasion was Auntie G's wedding shower...

We made it a small one, with just family and close friends...

I was in the kitchen most of the time, so didn't get as many pics as I wanted too...

We had see food. HAHAHA!! Just kidding. I apologize. What can I say? I have toddlers.

The lighting in the room was really strange... so I apologize for the washed out, funky looking photos.

This is the best photo of the food I got... it doesn't show how cool it turned out. The recipe can be found
here. We individually plated each dish for the shower, just for fun. They were all churched up with parmesan crisps, parmesan shavings, and basil chiffonade. I had a ton of help, thank goodness, and I was quite pleased with how it all turned out. :-)

This is Auntie G with the apron I made her... and the antique Griswold cast iron skillet I found her in a local antique store here. I'm secretly hoping she hates the skillet, and will give it back to me. Frank Castle got me into cast iron, and I love it far far far too much now. Especially Griswold. Wow, the lighting is terrible in this pic.

The girl 1st cousins, minus one.

All the "girls" at the shower...

And, sisters... :-)

After the shower, Auntie G opened her massage therapy house of pain on Frank Castle, just for kicks. It's a family tradition.

Scary how much she looks like she's enjoying herself, huh?!
Kiki and Debris played with Aunt S's yarn...

Auntie Ten and Bri IM'd each other for a while... Relationships these days... Hee hee!

The girls were happy to spend time with their Aunts, and their Papa and Gramma's, and their Great Papa's & Gramma's.

But, by the end of the weekend, we were ALL VERY POOPED.

So, after all was said and done, we had a family dinner of nachos, with the works, and now we're looking forward to the next time we'll all be together for Auntie G and her B's wedding. We were so sorry that Uncle D and Uncle B couldn't be here this time, so that's going to be fun!

Now that we are home, we are sick. It's hard to be too grumpy about it though, because it is our first "sniff cold", alternatively titled "snot cold", this winter. So, we're wallowing in being at home, in our lovely, lovely, lovely, snowy by morning, sunshiney by afternoon, tiny little population, lack of traffic and checkout lines of a town, and recovering. Although,
this lady did describe being a mother to sick kids the very best I've ever heard.
Happy Tuesday!
Hi Little Family! Good to "see" you all having fun! Looks like you did a GREAT job with the shower and the girls are all beautiful. Love the "pooped out" pic. Says it all. And I love your new pic at the top though that last one is hard to beat.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are sick but I know what you mean about it not being that bad. My gf's and I talk about how sometimes it's almost nice. Gives you and excuse to just lay up and be worthless - guilt free!
I LOVE the pictures of the nasal spray individually labeled. That is so right up Tadd's alley : ) Hope you recover soon. Good shower--you girls all look so nice!
ReplyDeleteNaomi! I forgot to tell you....when I saw the apron I thought, "She should know about this blog." Check this out...I think you might love it. :)

Tell her I sent you if you would!
How fun! Nothing beats getting the whole family together, especially when everyone's so spread out! I can't wait to see pics of the girls' dresses that you've been working on...they're gonna be pro flower girls soon, if not already:) And I'm sure they're not done yet, with Nina getting married now!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how tall Keira is getting...the picture of you girls on the deck, with you holding a stretched out Keira, really made me notice that! She'll be as tall as you in no time:) Those nachos looked quite yummy...and I spotted the Trader Joe's Salsa Verde on the table...I LOVE that stuff!
Hope you all feel better soon!!
