Friday we started out with just a couple inches...
My children complain every morning about having to dress themselves. They think I should help them, even tho they are perfectly capable of dressing themselves. Well, mysteriously enough, the minute the snow started falling, I had two piles of jammies in a puddle next to the front door, and their snow clothes were on them, perfectly. We didn't have that much snow yet, but it was enough to have fun in...
They licked every sidewalk square in the neighborhood. I told them about 400 times to not lick the sidewalk, then finally I just gave up and took pictures of it.
Barely enough snow for a snow angel, as of yet...
There's supposed to be a mountain here...
Kiki discovered that powdery snow is the perfect thing to draw Chinese Characters in. I have no idea what this says. I hope no one else does either. I can just see me posting something that turns out to be very inappropriate.
After a fun, cold walk through the neighborhood, this is what my entry way looked like. I have the perfect spot to store DRY snow clothes. But, WET snow clothes? That is a whole different ball game. My house is buried in wet boots and snow clothes... what to do, what to do?
Spending the day in your long underwear is so much fun!
Hot Chocolate... the perfect way to warm yourself up from the inside out...
Saturday we woke up to a LOT more snow, and it was still falling! I think we ended up with about 8 inches where we live. The girls spent the day with Frank Castle, while I went shopping BY MYSELF! Only a SAHM can understand the bliss that is shopping and running errands BY YOURSELF!
So they headed off to conquer the neighborhood in their "purple boat", and I headed off to conquer pre-Christmas crowds. I finally remembered to take the camera with me, and captured a picture of my favorite store in Wenatchee on The Ave. Who wouldn't love this store?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! I love this town.
That night we took a walk in the snow, played with "Baby Rovey", and generally had fun with the cold, and the white white snow.
Happy Monday!
Cool you got some too! sounds like alot more than we have, so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteKiki's expression in the second to last pic says it all! What bliss for those two punkins :-)
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Brings back memories of playing out in the snow 'til our fingers were numb and then coming inside to a warm fire and hot chocolate afterwards...nothing beats it!:) How fun for the girls! Too cute in licking the sidewalk too:) haha
ReplyDeleteMandy
Hey, as long as they lick only the top layer of snow, there's nothing wrong with that!! I still practice that rule=)
ReplyDeletethey know how to "do" cold -- outside AND in. perfect! well, maybe not the licking the sidewalk part. :-) but at least their tongues can't stick to it. don't introduce them to metal.
ReplyDeleteHaha Maurita, I actually thought of that. The one pic of Keira next to the yellow thing is a metal plate they put on sidewalks around here at the cross walk. I thankfully didn't have to intervene there, although I was ready to. They also licked a plastic electical box, thankfully the metal one sitting right next to it didn't get licked. :-)
ReplyDeleteLicking things.... what a fun childhood past time. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you guys have way more snow than us, I hope you haven't been getting the horrible winds like we have been down here by the ocean. Up to 60 miles and hour they say!
Oh how fun...I wish I was there instead of ugly Fresno...we got like an inch of rain today...whooo hooo!!! Auntie G
ReplyDeleteI just noticed the rest of the sign on the pic of the clothes store: "...children's apparel & tobacco" Well, how handy!
ReplyDeleteHaha! You do have to actually read the sign to get the irony of it, but I wasn't going to explain it for folks. How lame would that be? It totally cracks me up tho. Go to the SAFE ZONE to get your kids clothes and tobacco? What the heck?
ReplyDeletehappy day for snow! we just have ice and frozen cow temperatures. i've had some plant and shrub fatalities too. very sad. will have to bury them when the ground thaws. :) we might get snow tonight! if i make a snow man, i'll send you some pics. :)
ReplyDeleteThat picture of K saying "this is a HUGE one[snowball]!" is hillarious!
ReplyDeleteWhat is this word "alone" that you speak of?
ReplyDeleteTo really get the fun, full experience that is K and B, you have to have conversations with them in person...they don't just speak, they...emote!
ReplyDeleteI love how excited they are. I wish I had some little ones around to be so excited about the small things with. :)
