Fun weekend

Well, we just finished up a fun weekend with Auntie Ten, and her B-friend. (This is what the girls call him!) As we have a few feet of snow sitting around here, and it is, to say the least, a little hilly, you can imagine what our fun involved. :-) I realize that everyone else in the Pacific NW has excessive amounts of snow right now too, so ours is currently nothing special. :-) However, we will have ours until March-ish... I promise that at some point I will do a post that doesn't involve snow. :-) We're still having fun with it tho, so that's good, right?!

Our visitors, who travelled some very slippery roads to join us for a few days...

We went searching for a great sledding hill on Saturday... didn't really have to look too far. Frank Castle took the first trip down. I love this sequence of pics. :-) You can tell how steep and long it is if you notice Rovey sitting there at the end of the path.

If you sweat while climbing back up the hill, your sweat beads would turn into little ice balls on your face, so you have to pull your hat down over your face to melt them, and so you can move your mouth to talk. Also, it's so cold, your eyes water, and then you blink and they freeze shut. I know this is not news to anyone who's lived with these sub-zero temps before, but it's very new to us who've recently moved from "the other side". Also, you have to breathe really shallow, otherwise it hurts to breathe, it's so cold and dry!Kiki and Debris figured this out pretty quickly, it's funny cuz Kiki was moving her face constantly so it wouldn't freeze.

Kiki on top of the world. I love this pic.
Breaking all the icicles off of Rovey...MOM! An icicle went through my head!!!! Argh! Oh NO! I have an icicle in my head!!!!!
Auntie Ten and Kiki, speeding down a pretty sweet hill in our neighborhood.

Kiki, who always must try to make it a little more interesting.Eating snow, hopefully there's no de-icer in it. Sigh.Sunflakes. :-)Kiki was quite sure that she should get an iPhone for Christmas already. Then B-friend visited with his iPhone, and she's quite certain sure now. SIGH! It's good to know that if I ever were to get one, she could show me how to use it. Well, my daughters currently consider "idiot boy" to be the most mean of insults they can hurl at each other. As this post is long enough, and they are currently yelling this phrase at each other in another room, I should probably go break that up. I'm raising delicate little flowers, to be sure. Does my heart good.

Happy Holidays!
