I see a karaoke machine in our future...

Well, I still have approximately four posts worth of snow pictures. I don't know about the rest of you, but while I'm not tired of the snow necessarily, (good thing, cuz as I type we're having near blizzard conditions!) I am a little tired of doing snow posts! So, I thought I'd take a break from that, and show you Kiki with a "micerphone". She is quite sure that she will be singing on a stage someday like Carrie Underwood.... (Keep in mind that she does have a somewhat edited version of Carrie's work in her knowledge arsenal.) Anyway, Girl-J got a Karaoke machine and a really neat inspirational karaoke CD, and Kiki spent quite a bit of time with it last week.

She decided she needed to learn to read. However, she did not decide this because she wanted to read a book, or directions, or anything like that. No, she decided she wanted to read, because then she could read the screen on the karaoke machine and therefore karaoke more properly!!! I got several videos of her doing karaoke, with patient DJ Boy-J behind her. Keep in mind that Kiki and Debris can sing this hymn, word for word & front to back, but usually they sing it with Alan Jackson on our iPods, or Carrie Underwood on YouTube, or running around the house like crazy little people. (I couldn't find a video of AJ performing this hymn, which is a shame... however, his Precious Memories album is a wonderful collection of hymns, and has served a sort of soundtrack to our lives in the past 3 years or so. Thanks to his lovely recordings of hymns, my daughters know them well. We enjoy it SO much, I hooked up to it on Amazon!) Without further ado, here is Kiki, discovering that she's got the general idea down, but it's hard to sing the verses and chorus in order when the spotlight is on you!!

  5. She definitely has the SOULLLLL part down - the rest is details! Great job - the Holy Spirit can translate her praise perfectly. Thanks for dropping by my blog and what a blessing to get to hear my favorite music sung by a future Carrie Uwood!
