What we do in the winter...

Well, I have been suffering from a major case of creative blah-ness. Painting projects, dirty dishes, wet snow clothes, de-icer on my floors, general life, basically, has been sucking the creative life right out of me. That being said, I am going to get nagged very shortly by family if I don't do a new post complete with kid pics, I can feel it coming, so I am going to rely on what apparently will be our main winter activity up here in Wenatchee... sledding!

Kiki loves to sled. Debris doesn't mind it, but she'd rather be shopping. (This is what she told me last time we were in Leavenworth.) So, Kiki is our tireless sledder. She sleds the rest of us under the table. No matter how long we've been sledding, there will be tears from her when we leave the sledding hill.

Sledding is fun, but relatively unimpressive. But, then you make me climb back up the hill BY MYSELF!!!???? The outrage! Why can't we just go to the cheese mongers!?
Meanwhile, trucking back up the hill... For some reason, watching her climb up the hill makes my heart ache a little. She's so big!!! Watching her go down the hill just makes me smile, but coming up the hill, I'm reminded of how much she's grown--especially when she stops to help another kid along. She just looks so grown up!!! We're such a long ways away from the 3 pound baby that she was...
Our girls! So different, so big, both so amazing. :-) God knew just what we needed when he gave each of them to us.

Well, going down the hill once was fun, but could we please go shopping now???
No, OK, I'll eat snow then, to tide me over until I can get cheese samples.

Kiki is usually so tired on the way home, she falls sound asleep.

Debris thinks it's funny, so she makes fun of her...

Yes, I took this picture while I was driving on a sheet of ice. That's why it looks so terrible, I was actually watching the road. But, it sure is gorgeous. The Wenatchee River has a lot of ice on it, SO pretty!

Then last week we went sledding with some friends here in town. We're very thankful for them, we'd be a little lonely without them!

Kiki and C, crashin' and climbin'!

M administering CPR to S!
A steep hill is great for sledding, but then ya gotta climb back up it. What's the deal with that?!
Debris, with Mr. I, chatting about hot chocolate, if I recall correctly.
Is there anything cuter than a bundled up baby!? Baby O was SO good!
And, just a few videos of Kiki sledding, for your viewing pleasure. :-)

Skeleton Style...

Gratuitous crashing video...

We got another foot of snow last night, so I should go shovel the driveway. That being said, I won't. I'm going to paint instead. Have a great day!

  2. I love those babies, a little sledding and eating cheese sounds good about now! Then it would be a win win with Kiki and Debris - missing you - Grammy

  3. I'm with you on the giving up on shoveling part! And we probably don't have as much as you! Our snow keeps melting, then turning to ice, then more snow, then repeating the process.

Those are classic pics of the girls konked out in the back seat! And what a gorgeous area you live in in the wintertime! That at least won't get old!

  4. I'm with Kiki on the sledding, and would much prefer that to shopping. I'd have to admit I don't mind the snow at all and am a bit bummed currently that ours is gone. Though I know many don't share that opinion.
    Happy painting.

  5. K and B have to be the most colorful snow kids around! Love the bright colors of their clothes! That looks like so much fun, too...

After you called, I looked around at my painting paraphernalia, said, "Too late now.", and happily walked out of the room.
